ROCKVILLE, MD / ACCESS Newswire / September 24, 2026 / Sparks Group today announced the retirement of longtime President Evette Baker and the appointment of Dave Meyercord as the company’s new President.

Baker retires after 27 years with Sparks Group. She joined the company as Vice President in 1999 and was named President in 2012, serving in that role for the past 14 years.

Over nearly three decades, Baker played a defining role in the growth and evolution of Sparks Group. She helped transform the company from an organization that grew primarily through outstanding service delivery into a fully developed sales-and-service organization. Her leadership also helped guide Sparks Group through major periods of economic and industry change, including the dot-com collapse, the Great Recession and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Throughout her tenure, Baker helped strengthen numerous areas of the business, including Sparks Group’s sales model, commission structures and service-delivery organization. Her influence also extended deeply into the company’s culture and employee experience.

Sparks credited Baker’s judgment, innovation and commitment to the company as central to their long working relationship.

As Baker retires, Dave Meyercord will assume the role of President.

Meyercord brings approximately 30 years of leadership experience across the staffing, business services and financial services industries, with experience in strategy, operations, sales, organizational development and business growth. Most recently, he served as Chief Executive Officer of AREVO Group, a family of staffing and recruiting companies. His prior experience also includes senior leadership roles with Elwood Staffing Services and Headway Workforce Solutions.

Meyercord holds an MBA with a concentration in Finance and Strategy from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, as well as a master’s degree in Latin American Studies and Anthropology from the University of Florida and a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University.

His appointment marks the beginning of a new chapter for Sparks Group while building on the foundation Baker helped establish during her 27 years with the company. As President, Meyercord will lead Sparks Group’s day-to-day operations and work with the company’s executive leadership team to guide its continued growth, strengthen its client and candidate services, and pursue new opportunities in an evolving staffing and workforce environment.
