Big Chipper Tree Service completes crane-assisted emergency tree removal, forming an unexpected connection with a local family facing a cancer diagnosis.
GRAND RAPIDS, MI, UNITED STATES, November 4, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Big Chipper Tree Service, a family-owned tree care company based in Grand Rapids, recently completed an emergency tree removal after a tree fell onto a local residence. The job required crane work to safely extract the tree from the roof, and the crew responded shortly after the homeowner’s initial call.
The tree removal involved a complex crane operation to lift sections of the fallen tree off the roof without causing additional structural damage. Big Chipper dispatched an estimator to the property shortly after receiving the call, and the full crew followed to complete the work.
What set the job apart, according to the homeowner, was not the technical work but the crew’s response to the family’s personal circumstances. Upon arriving at the home, a Big Chipper team member noticed signs around the house linking to websites the family had created after the homeowner’s brother was diagnosed with stage 3 brain cancer.
From that point, the crew made a series of personal gestures throughout the job. They brought donuts to the household, and the family arranged a video call so the full team could meet the homeowner’s brother directly.
“From there, everyone who came to work on the tree was so unbelievably kind and genuine. They went above and beyond in every possible way,” the homeowner said. “If you’re thinking of hiring these dudes, do it. They’re really incredible people.”
Readers who would like to support the family during this difficult time can learn more about their story and contribute through the family’s GoFundMe page.
